the gospel comes with grace

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB)

What is Grace?

Strong’s provides an interesting definition for the Greek word translated grace, cháris (Strong’s Greek 5485).

As I read the definition, I was taken by this phrase: “especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life.”

You see, grace comes to us as God’s freely given favor and loving-kindness—not because we’ve earned it, but because He loves us. More than just forgiveness, grace is God’s divine influence working directly in our hearts, transforming us from the inside out. It begins as conviction of sin and, through faith, becomes conviction of righteousness (John 16:8-11). When we receive His grace, it doesn’t just change our standing with Him—it changes who we are at the core, rewiring our identity and default settings, making us completely new creations. The beautiful thing about grace’s transforming power is how God’s divine influence within our hearts shows up in how we live, creating visible evidence in our choices, actions, and relationships.

Paul writes extensively about Jesus as God’s agent of grace, calling Him the “Son of God in power” (see Romans 1:4)—power that works in us, changes us, and flows through us to touch others.

GRACE CHANGES EVERYTHING!

As you read the following verses, do you sense God speaking to your heart about your need for His grace and the love that He has for you?

“But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be put to shame.” For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:8-11,13 (NASB)

If your answer is YES, then read the following verse and take the first step today… BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THE TRUTH ABOUT JESUS & CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH THAT HE IS LORD!

You may want to pray something like this: Father God, I feel you drawing my heart to Jesus in this moment, and I welcome it. I recognize that I am a sinner in need of Your Grace, and Jesus died so I could be free of that sin. Lord, I believe by Faith that Jesus is Your Son, that what the scriptures reveal not only about me, but about Jesus who is Your Son, who suffered and died for my sins. Thank You for your grace and forgiveness today. Today, I surrender my life to You and welcome You as my Lord. It is in Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
